Born in 1974, Desiree Edkins is a photographer based in Scottsdale, Arizona. A native of Buffalo, New York, she earned her BFA with honors from Arizona State University (Tempe, AZ) in 2004. Upon finishing her degree in Photography, she embarked upon a full time career as a commercial and editorial photographer based in Phoenix, Arizona. In 2007, after 5 years in the industry, Desiree left her staff position as studio manager to return to fine art photography and focus on personal projects as well as her daughter Ella. Currently, along with her photography and freelance work, Desiree is also an active volunteer and supporter of the local arts and education community, working closely with the Phoenix Art Museum and the Art Masterpiece program. Her work has been exhibited nationally and is held in numerous private and public collections.
